MARIA CRISTINA FALLS

Located in the “City of Majestic Waterfalls,” Iligan City, the beautiful Maria Cristina Falls is one of the well-known natural gems of Lanao del Norte. Flowing along the Agus River, this famous national landmark has also been known as the twin falls because its flow is separated by a rock at the brink of its fall, creating a charming sliced drop of 98 meters.

Not only is Maria Cristina one of the most popular destinations in the area but it is also one of the most celebrated as it has generated sustainable hydro-electric power for various areas in Mindanao since the National Power Corporation started harnessing its power in the 1950s.

Maria Cristina Falls has projected Iligan City to world renown, being one of the most easily recognizable postcard photos of the natural wonders of the country that is not only known for its majesty but its impact to our communities.
